Synchro Stories - Sue Watts

The first pic we think was one of the first trips to Centre Parcs with the skating mums Joy,Jayne and Carole laughing on the sofa-the next photo was Carole organising food as was her forte -
An abiding memory of the Center Parcs trips was when we all decided to go out in the night and find the various abandoned bikes left all over the site-this was hilarious because invariably the bikes were in different states of array mind for example didn’t have a seat and in fact I think Carole ended up with a supermarket trolley that Helen wheeled her around in, this in the pitch dark and with most of us the worse for wear for a few bottles of wine-the next photo was when the bunch of us went for a stay in the Peak District (without the girls)this was us out having a recce of the site and Carole stepping up to her ankle in a puddle and then we went on a cable car at Matlock and when we came out of the caves Carole posed on the zip wire background
I also remember laughing and laughing all the time riding on the children’s playground as Carole was always the game one with me and often being the lead in the various skirmishes
You can tell from the pictures we had such a laugh.
Helen remembers a skating trip where we were all travelling back from Deeside and on the motorway she noticed Carole had gone a bit quiet on the back of the 7 seater and she saw she was in difficulty so pulled over and I jumped out got Carole out the car by this time she was choking badly and I was slapping her on her back to no avail and Helen got out of the drivers seat and as a designated First Aider gave her the proper thump and out popped the wretched tootie fruitie!!
This was all the while on the side of the busy motorway -it then transpired that Carole had wet herself thru this ordeal in the car and had to sit on a plastic bag all the way home (we stopped at the next services so she was able to change into dry undies and trousers at least)
Helen said it was all ok as she sold the carrier shortly afterwards🤣🤣🤣🤣
I also remember all the skating trips with Carole with the girls competing at their ice dance competitions especially happy memories of the Belfast comp where we all went on a trip to the Giants Causeway and had a fab time
The Synchro trips were always fraught with various issues especially the ones abroad but we could always rely on Carole sorting out provisions for the whole gang parents and skaters alike and have fond memories of wherever we went Carole always managed to ‘find’ a serving trolley stack it with food (which she purloined from the hotel breakfast bar) and also purchased various foodstuff to keep us all well fed. It was hilarious while we waited for Carole to turn up as we didn’t know what she would turn up with and then there she would appear and could be seen wheeling food and drinks up and down the hotel corridors.
Lots and lots of abiding happy memories shared with us all never to be forgot-

Sue and Helen xx
